DAY TWO

After a comfortable night's sleep (for some!), the day began at 5:45am when Mum knocked on the door for a shower. We were ready to leave just before 7am. The conditions were ideal again, with the tail wind picking up during the day-let's hope this continues! Mum had a go driving behind me with 15ks to go, while Annabelle rode beside me and Bevo took a well earned rest from driving. We arrived in Southern Cross just before 1pm and found our accommodation at the Palace Hotel. After an uncomfortable night in the camper, Bevo decided to book a room with Mum as well. I did another recovery ride around the town, whilst Annabelle ran next to me-a very quiet afternoon in Southern Cross. After a much needed shower, we headed to the BP servo to collect our donation tin (thanks to Graham Wilson for sending the donation tins to various road houses along the way). The lovely manager Pat gave us free coffees and some beautiful homemade chicken soup-unfortunately Kylie and Bevo missed out as they were back at the hotel. Tonight we will watch the St.Kilda/Collingwood game, before an early night to bed.
