DAY TEN

Today reinforced for me the reason why I am doing this ride. I wanted to do something difficult in honour of my dad and the day began just that way. The headwind was strong from the outset and our warm up 15 km was bloody hard. Luckily, the views took our minds off the wind. They were breathtaking. We stopped at a couple of lookouts- the ocean was so blue! The rest of the ride was pretty tough with the wind and the heat-I was glad when we rolled into the Nullabor Plain roadhouse! No pool unfortunately, but it was probably the second nicest motel we've stayed at. We went on a cool down ride/run- although it wasn't all that cool! Pasta for tea again- we have had to ration our fruit and vegies as there hasn't been anywhere to buy them since Norseman. We are all looking forward to Ceduna- hopefully it is the shopping 'paradise' Annabelle and Mum are hoping for! Tomorrow we head off to Nundroo-the last roadhouse before we reach 'civilisation'!. On a good note, there weren't any dead roos on the road today, although Mum was pretty worried about 'Jake' the black snake they drove over today-he never reappeared on the other side of the road-hopefully he's not hitching a ride with us!
