Today began with cooler temperatures and milder winds, but then again the winds picked up. While they were strong, they weren't as good as yesterday due to the cross wind direction. I still averaged over 34km/h, but at least a dozen times I panicked when hit by a sudden gust. If possible there were more kangaroos on the road today - including a number of fresh ones! I rode with Brendan and Jack for a short itme and they very kindly gave me a donation towards the ride. The ride into Madura was a steep descent - a welcome change! There was another photo 'opportunity' with the Madura Pass - a wide expanse looking south towards the ocean. The area is set on a 300m thick limestone shelf, which extends over 200,000sq km. It used to be the ocean floor millions of years ago. On arrival at the Madura Oasis Motel, I did a warm down ride, whilst Annabelle ran, then refreshed my legs in the motel pool. Tomorrow is a rest day - I'm hanging out for a lie in! Annabelle and I will do a gentle 30km ride to keep the legs moving, then the rest of the day will be spent relaxing before we head off to Eucla.
