We woke to a warm morning and some light winds, but that didn't last too long. The zephyr soon became a gail and I was able to average ovoer 40km/h for the enitre 183km. I set a new max speed of 63.4km/h on the flat - this was definitely the most enjoyable ride so far. What has been amazing is the amount of road kill (kangaroos) we have seen. I would not be exaggerating to say that we have passed over 1000 thus far. The odour is unpleasant and that is understating the stench. The ride also covered the longest section of continuous straight road in Australia - 146.6km - a photo opportunity! By the time we got into Caiguna the temperautre was well and truy over 30 and the wind was uncomfortably hot. We again caught up with Brendan and Jack (the father and son team). Jack is doing remarkably well considering he is only 15. Annabelle still managed to do a run, despite the heat, and she cooked up a fantastic pasta meal. Mum is missing her mobile phone, so she is spending an average of $20.00 a day on public phones. Mum spoke to my nephew, Billy and she told him we were travelling on the Nullabor Plain and he said, "Nan, are you STILL on the plane?". Once more in bed by 8.30pm
