DAY 16

The day was already warm at 6am, so I knew it was going to be a hot one- 36 degrees in Port Augusta! I wanted to make it there in good time today, to ensure I had plenty of time for my recovery before the Grand Final. The wind was unbelieveable! I had full-on hot head and side winds, which blew me all over the place- I was too scared at times to take my hands of the bike for a drink. My hardest ride by far. My cousin Shane was following behind the van with his vehicle equipped with a flashing light. Made it into Port Augusta with about an hour and a half to go before the game. Shane very kindly paid for all of our motel rooms as a donation towards the ride. Had a recovery session in the motel pool, then into town to watch the footy-go Hawks!! Dinner tonight in town then off to Snowtown tomorrow- home of the infamous 'bodies in the barrel'-don't think Annabelle realised this when she booked it!
