We had a sleep in this morning (6:30!) due to the fact that today was a shorter ride. As we were leaving the motel in Wudinna (owned by a lovely lady who gave us a room at half price) 3AW rang and told us that Neil Mitchell would be ringing at 10.15, so we pulled over where Mum had some coverage (a big plug for Telstra Next G) and waited for the call. After they rang, I was on hold for a while and fortunately Neil was kinder to me than he had been to previous callers. The interview went well and I know that at least one person donated because of the radio exposure. It's hot today and the headwind made the last 30 km quite tough. Thus far on the trip, the trucks have been fantastic; giving me a wide berth and many of them have even tooted and waved in a friendly manner. Today was the first blip for the truckies. One guy blew his horn aggressively as Annabelle and I made our way up a steep section of road and as he passed us he blew it again in a most unsavoury way. We both waved politely and told him to have a nice day (yeah right!). Kimba, the town we are in would be the biggest since Day 4 at Norseman and we are staying at a lovely old pub. We have already ridden 20 km past Kimba so we can have a shorter day tomorrow. Being Grand Final Day we would like to get in early and cleaned up before the big game begins. My cousin, Shane is coming tonight from Whyalla and will stay with us for the next few days. Hopefully he doesn't mind that we go to bed at 8.30pm and then get up at 5.45am!
